A Legacy of Homebuilding in New Jersey
For over 60 years, the Schaeffer family has been dedicated to the mission of providing the people of New Jersey with quality-built, affordably priced new homes. Thomas Schaeffer Sr. learned the craft of woodworking in the Army, and afterwards he immediately put his new skills to work in the homebuilding industry.
The family business launched with Thomas “Tim” Schaeffer Jr. when he worked with his father as a teenager. Tim continued to work for many builders throughout the region, polishing his craft until he and his father began building custom homes in southern New Jersey. Tim eventually founded Tim Schaeffer Communities in 1989.
The building tradition passed to Tim’s son, Jason Schaeffer, who worked his way through the trades while attending high school, college and graduate business school. Now, as president, Jason continues the family tradition of Tim Schaeffer Communities…Your Hometown Builder

We have been honored as the State Conservation Service Builder of the Year for care and respect of the natural environment.
We believe in giving back to our community. Through donations of money, food and time to various charities, we support the communities that have been good to us for so many years.

A commitment to quality is in every one of our homes. Therefore, we continually re-work our architectural designs and materials. When a new technology is proven to have superior quality, lower cost, longer life and fewer warranty issues, we implement that technology and pass the cost savings along to you, our valued homeowners.
We created an Information Technology department in the early 1990’s, moving ahead of the curve in our industry and streamlining our office procedures. Our staff constantly looks for ways to improve the “behind the scenes” processes that help us deliver a quality home. Paperless transmission via wireless devices and web portals enhances our communication abilities, and ensures that our homebuyers get their wishes to the correct people as quickly and accurately as possible.
When you buy a Schaeffer home, you become part of our family. We encourage your comments and opinions. You will receive at least two feedback surveys from an unbiased, third-party firm that can be answered on-line or by mail.
